What I packed in my Hospital Bag

It has been a minute since I have posted. In the last few months I have had a new baby, transitioning into being a mother of five, while still running a household. To say the least it has been busy!  But I am back and I want to share with you what I packed in my hospital bag. Please be aware that just because I packed it in my bag, does not mean that you will need, or want the same things. This is the fourth hospital bag that I have packed so I know what I needed/wanted to have with me.

1.) Labor and Delivery Gown- I purchased mine from BabyBeMine Maternity. The one I ordered you can find here. I also got the matching pillow case. You do not have to buy a delivery gown, your hospital will provide you with one, but I just decided that for this baby I wanted my own gown.

2.) Nursing Bras/Nursing Tanks- I had 2 of each. I got my nursing bras from Walmart and my nursing tanks from Old Navy and Walmart.

3.) Shorts- I packed a couple pair of shorts because I can not sleep in pants, I always end up tangled up in my blankets. Also I tend to be hot natured.

4.) Leggings- I also packed a couple of pair of leggings, one pair for going home in and one pair incase I wanted them during the day while I was entertaining visitors.

5.) Socks- I have a few pair of socks with the grips on the bottom. These are a must have in the hospital because they will not let you out of bed if you don't have socks or slippers that have grips on them to keep you from falling. My hospital provided these socks for me but the ones they offer are not very comfy so I got my own.

6.) Underwear- I took 2 pair of my regular underwear but packed the Always Discreet Boutique underwear as well. I had watched a ton of YouTube videos and read blog post where women swear by them. So I gave them a chance. I actually didn't use these while in the hospital because I used the ones they gave me but these were great once I came home.

7.) Robe- I also packed my Robe. I got one that matches a swaddle blanket and headband for baby girl. I got it from Milk Maid Goods. This is the robe, and this is the swaddle set.

8.) Toiletries- Some hospitals will provide you with your basic essentials like soap, shampoo, toothbrush/paste, etc. You will have to check with your hospital and see what they provide so you can plan what you need to pack. I always pack my own toiletries and if the hospital provides me with extra I just keep them in case. In my toiletry bag I packed:

 * Shampoo/Conditioner
 * Body Wash/Soap
 * Deodorant
 * Razor
 * Q-tips
 * Toothbrush/Toothpaste
 * Hair Brush/Hair Ties
 * Makeup (and brushes)
 * Makeup Remover wipes
 * Lip Balm (It is very dry in the hospital and your lips dry out quickly)
 * Dry Shampoo
 * Contacts/ Solution/ Case

9.) Misc.- I also packed:

 * Iphone/Charger
 * MacBook/Charger
 * Pregnancy Journal/ Pen- to write down all the details
 * Pillow/Blanket- I like to have my own pillow as theirs are really thin.
 * Wallet- I didn't take in my purse as there was enough bags to deal with.
 * Baby Memory Book- to put in all baby girl's details.
 * Letter Board/ Letters- for baby girl's pictures
 * Insurance papers- I just kept them in a folder and anything the hospital gave me went in this folder as well.

So this concludes what I packed in my hospital bag and I hope that it was helpful. If you have any questions, please leave me a comment below.  Hope you have a great day!
